The British Council and the Premier League are running a global competition for learners of English aged 12 and over as part of the Premier Skills project
The Premier Connections Competition invites entrants to create a video or power-point presentation showing connections between their home town/city and a town/city where a Premier League club is based. Entries can either be from individuals or two people working together.
Winners are invited to watch a Barclays Premier League game as a guest of the Premier League. There are 20 runner-up prizes of official Premier League football shirts, one from each club in the Premier League.
The closing date for entries is 10 May, 2010.
The British Council provides online and downloadable support for the competition including sample entries, ‘how to get started’ guides for learners, and an area for teachers with a lesson plan using the competition as a classroom activity, links to useful resources, and posters to advertise the competition.
